Chicago-based MRO distributor Grainger (NYSE: GWW), No. 2 on MDM’s list of the top 40 industrial distributors, reported daily sales for the month of January 2013 were up 8 percent from January 2012, and included 3 percentage points from volume, 3 percentage points from price, 1 percentage point from sales of seasonal products and 1 percentage point from acquisitions.
By segment, daily sales in the U.S. in January were up 7 percent, were up 10 percent in Canada (+8 percent in local currency) and up 7 percent in Other Businesses (Asia, Europe, Latin America).
Grainger had 2012 sales of $9 billion.
