Haines Buys Maryland Flooring Distributor

The distributors will continue to operate separately.

Floor covering distributor Haines, Baltimore, MD, has acquired Baltimore-based Allied Products. Allied is a distributor of flooring-related supplies with 11 locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina, also operating in DC, Delaware and areas of New Jersey and West Virginia.

All Allied employees are being hired by Haines and current management will continue to run the business. Fred Reitz, Haines vice president of operations and development, said Allied will continue to operate as a separate business, with only back office activities integrated.

Privately-held Haines distributes floor covering products for all market segments, including new and rehab commercial and new and remodel residential. Haines operates 18 distribution centers in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
