HD Supply, Inc., Atlanta, GA, reported sales for fiscal 2010 were $7.5 billion, an increase of 0.8 percent compared to fiscal 2009. The full-year loss for the diversified distributor was $619 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $514 million.

The increase in annual sales was driven by increased volume in the maintenance, repair and improvement market sector. Those increases, however, were offset by a decrease in specialty construction and a slight decrease in infrastructure and energy.
Fourth quarter sales increased 6.7 percent to $1.7 billion. Loss for the fourth quarter was $203 million, compared to a loss of $168 million for the prior year same period.
