IMCO (Independent Medical Co-Op), the cooperative for medical supply distributors in the physician, hospital, nursing home, home health, EMS, industrial and other related markets, announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with IDEA, a business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce solution and professional service provider that has traditionally served electrical distributors.

This agreement was established to help IMCO members optimize their electronic business transactions.

“Both companies share a common goal of enabling a new market with solutions that are proven in the electrical supply chain. IDEA will help optimize IMCO members’ operations and profitability by providing the solutions and process consulting needed to drive costs out of the business,” said Bob Gaylord, president and CEO, IDEA.

IDEA is an eBusiness consultant/partner, who provides business process and data optimization services focused on the distribution industry.

One of those, Industry Data Exchange (IDX), enables manufacturers, distributors, and service providers to conduct partner-to-partner electronic business on an Internet-based network using EDI, XML, Flat File or Web Form transaction sets. IDX also provides direct connections to other similar Internet-based trading networks.

IDEA was founded through a partnership with the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). IDEA is the official standards creating and setting body for the electrical industry.
