Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported sales for the third quarter of $3.7 billion, a 2.9 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit fell 2.8 percent to $367 million.
Industrial technologies sales were $731.2 million, up 0.2 percent from the same quarter a year ago.
Climate solutions sales were $2.9 billion for the third quarter, an increase of 3.6 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
For the first nine months, sales were $10.6 billion, a 4.1 percent increase over the same period one year ago. Profit was $842.7 million, down 34.1 percent from the same period in 2016.
