Rexnord LLC, Milwaukee, WI, reported sales for the first quarter ended July 3, 2010, were $407 million, an increase of 11 percent compared with the same period a year ago. Core sales grew 10 percent. The power transmission and water management manufacturer reported a net loss of $116.3 million, compared with a year-ago net loss of $24 million.

Process and Motion Control sales were $265.5 million, an increase of 13.3 percent from the prior year first quarter. First quarter 2011 orders increased over 50 percent with all Process and Motion Control Businesses experienced double-digit increases in order rates when compared to the prior year first quarter.
Water Management sales increased 6.2 percent to $141.8 million. Core sales expanded 5.3 percent. Orders increased just over 19 percent driven by solid order rates in the majority of Water Management end-markets.
