Wausau Paper (NYSE: WPP), Mosinee, WI, reported sales for the third quarter of $91.7 million, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Net loss was $2.9 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $5.3 million.
For the first nine months, sales were $257.5 million, a slight increase compared to the same period a year ago. Not loss was $87.3 million, compared to a year-ago profit of $3.1 million.
In June, Wausau completed the sale of its specialty paper business, which excluded the assets of the Brainerd, MN, mill.
