Wausau Paper (NYSE: WPP), Mosinee, WI, reported sales for the second quarter were $267.1 million, an increase of 1 percent over the same period a year ago. Shipments decreased 3 percent, due primarily to volume reductions. Profit was $3.2 million, compared with year-ago profit of $5.6 million.

For the first six months, sales were $516 million, down 1 percent in a year-over-year comparison. Profit was $1.8 million, compared to year-ago profit of $8.5 million.
