WD-40 Company (NASDAQ: WDFC), San Diego, CA, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended May 31 of $95.7 million, an increase of 2.8 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 1.4 percent to $10.4 million.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $285.4 million, up 3.7 percent from the same period the previous year. Profit for the period was $32.2 million, an increase of 1.6 percent.
Third quarter multi-purpose maintenance products sales, which include the WD-40 and 3-IN-ONE brands, were $84.8 million, up 3.2 percent from the prior year fiscal quarter, and $252.6 million year-to-date, up 5.6 percent from the same period last fiscal year.
Homecare and cleaning products sales, which include all other brands, were $10.8 million for the third quarter, down 1.8 percent, and were $32.8 million year-to-date, down 8.1 percent, both as compared to the prior fiscal year periods.
Americas segment sales in the third quarter were $45.1 million, down 5.5 percent, and were $134.4 million year-to-date, up 1 percent compared to the same periods last fiscal year period. The Europe, Middle East, Africa and India segment sales in the third quarter were $36.7 million, up 11.9 percent from the prior year fiscal quarter, and were $111.3 million year-to-date, up 10.1 percent compared to the prior fiscal year period. Asia-Pacific segment sales were $13.9 million for the quarter, up 9.4 percent, and were $39.7 million year-to-date, down 2.5 percent compared to the same periods last fiscal year.
