The purchase is William Bros.’ second this year in Florida. Williams Bros. recently purchased Cox Lumber Co., which had $396 million in sales in 2005. That acquisition nearly doubled the size of Williams Bros. and extended its reach into key growth markets in Florida and the Southeast.
Forest Products Supply is a family-owned and -operated building materials supplier. The company supplies lumber, doors, architectural millwork and windows. Forest Products claims on its Web site it is one of the largest manufacturers of wooden roof and floor trusses in the region. Forest Products operates primarily in the Sarasota area. It employs 370.
Other major acquisitions HD has made in building materials and lumber include White Cap Construction Supply Inc., Costa Mesa, CA, and Williams Bros. Williams Bros. focuses primarily on the metro Atlanta and coastal Georgia markets.
