Air Products Sales Up 10.8% in 3Q

Year-to-date sales down 7.7 percent year-over-year.

Air Products (NYSE: APD), Lehigh Valley, PA, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $2.1 billion, a 10.8 percent increase year-over-year. Profit decreased 70.6 percent to $104.1 million.

Third quarter industrial gases sales in the Americas were $930 million, an increase of 12 percent year-over-year. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, industrial gases sales increased 5 percent to $452 million, while in Asia, industrial gases sales increased 20 percent to $538 million.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $6 billion, up 7.7 percent over the prior-year period. Profit was $2.5 billion, up from $260.6 million the same period a year ago.
