A.M. Castle Reports Fourth Quarter and Annual Results

The company emerged from bankruptcy in August 2017.

A. M. Castle & Co., Franklin Park, IL, a global distributor of specialty metal and plastic products, which emerged from bankruptcy on Aug. 31, reported 2017 pre-bankruptcy (Jan. 1 to Aug. 31) sales of $353.9 million and post-bankruptcy (Sept. 1 to Dec. 31) sales of $164.9 million.

The company's pre-bankruptcy's profit was $36.2 million; post-bankruptcy the company reported a loss of $13.3 million. Annual sales in 2016 totaled $533.2 million. The company reported a loss for 2016 of $108 million.

A.M. Castle reported fourth-quarter sales of $123.2 million, up 12 percent year-over-year. The company reported a loss for the quarter of $12.5 million.
