Wausau Paper (NYSE: WPP), Mosinee, WI, reported second quarter sales of $212.9 million, a 1 percent decline from the same period last year. The company reported a loss of $1.3 million for the quarter.

A loss from discontinued operations of $3.4 million in the second quarter was driven in part by the sale of its premium Print & Color brands, inventory and select equipment, and the permanent closure of its Brokaw, Wisconsin, manufacturing site.
For the first six months, sales were $429.1 million, up 5.3 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 359 percent to $8.4 million.
