Amazon Announces Plans for Two More Fulfillment Centers

Amazon's new fulfillment centers in Oklahoma and Texas will create hundreds of new full-time jobs and give the company faster delivery times in the regions.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration says investigations are ongoing in Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois and New York.

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), Seattle, Washington, has announced plans to build Amazon fulfillment centers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Missouri City, Texas.

The Oklahoma City fulfillment center, which is anticipated to launch in 2021, will create more than 500 new full-time jobs.

“We’re thrilled to announce a new fulfillment center in Oklahoma City as we strive to better serve our customers throughout the state,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s vice president of global customer fulfillment. “Our growth in Oklahoma wouldn’t be possible without the amazing local workforce and strong support we’ve received from local and state leaders.”

The Missouri City, Texas, fulfillment center is also anticipated to launch in 2021 and also should create more than 500 new full-time jobs.

“We’re excited to be expanding our network of operations in Missouri City,” Boler said. “We are grateful for the strong support we’ve received from local and state leaders as we broaden our footprint throughout Texas. Every day at Amazon, incredible employees come together to deliver magical experiences for customers and we look forward to creating over 500 jobs for the local community, with industry-leading pay and comprehensive benefits starting on day one.”
