Barnes Group Sales Down 3.7% in 1Q

Organic sales up 3 percent in first quarter.

Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE: B), Bristol, CT, an international industrial and aerospace manufacturer and service provider, reported sales for the first quarter of $300.6 million, a 3.7 percent decrease year-over-year. Organic sales increased 3 percent. Profit for the quarter increased 27.8 percent to $29.1 million.

Aerospace sales were $100.2 million, down 7.4 percent year-over-year, and industrial sales were down 1.7 percent to $200.3 million

“We continue to generate solid organic revenue growth and improved margins in our Industrial business, while Aerospace is positioned for an expected sales ramp through the end of the year,” said Patrick J. Dempsey, president and CEO.
