Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. (NASDAQ: BECN), Peabody, MA, No. 4 on MDM’s list of top building materials distributors, reported sales for the fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, 2011, were $575.6 million, up 19.3 percent over the same period a year ago. Organic sales increased 15.6 percent. Profit increased 85.3 percent to $31.3 million.

In existing markets, residential and non-residential roofing product sales increased 25.7 percent and 10.8 percent, respectively, while complementary product sales declined 1 percent.
For the full fiscal year, sales were $1.82 billion, up 12.9 percent over fiscal year 2010. Organic sales increased 9.3 percent. Profit improved 71.5 percent to $59.2 million.
In existing markets, residential and non-residential roofing product sales were up strongly at 8.8 percent and 12.8 percent, respectively, while complementary product sales increased 1.7 percent.
