On Feb. 1, Houston-based pump solutions and MRO supplies distributor DXP Enterprises signed an definitive agreement to acquire Sheridan, CO-based manufacturer representative Ambiente H2O.
Founded in 2006, Ambiente specializes in pumps, process equipment and instrumentation, and related service and repair, focused on serving the water and wastewater industry. It operates out of three locations servicing Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.
Sales for Ambiente for the last 12 months ending Dec. 31 were about $8.1 million.

“The addition of Ambiente furthers our mission to build DXP Water into a full-line product and service-focused platform,” DXP CFO Kent Yee said. “Ambiente completes another acquisition under our DXP Water efforts. We look forward to scaling Ambiente and accelerating sales growth.”
DXP funded the acquisition with cash from its balance sheet. In December, DXP closed on refinancing debt and raised $205 million for reinvestment.
The move comes about a month after DXP announced it completed the acquisitions of PREMIERflow and Mid Atlantic Storage Systems.
