ProSource Acquires Southern Distributing in S. Carolina

The addition of plumbing and electrical supplies distributor Southern will give a wider range of products across a larger geographic area.

Greenville, SC-based plumbing and related building product distributor ProSource acquired Lake City, SC-based Southern Distributing Co. of Lake City.

Southern has provided plumbing and electrical supplies in the Low Country and Midlands of South Carolina since 1972.

The acquisition will provide current Southern customers a wider range of products across a larger geographic area, said Southern President and Owner Robbier Steele in a March 26 news release.

“The acquisition of Southern aligns with our investment strategy of becoming the preferred supplier of contractors in the Southeast,” ProSource CEO Drew Roberts said.

Southern will be rebranded to ProSource Supply after a concise transition period.
