RBC Bearings Inc. (Nasdaq: ROLL), Oxford, CT, reported sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2014 ended Sept. 28 of $102 million, an increase of 1.6 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 14.4 percent to $14.1 million.
On October 7, the company acquired Turbine Components Inc. for approximately $3.9 million. TCI, located in San Diego, CA, is an FAA-certified aircraft gas turbine repair station and manufacturer of precision components for the aerospace markets.
On August 16, the company acquired Climax Metal Products Company for approximately $13.6 million. CMP, located in Mentor, OH, is a manufacturer of precision shaft collars, rigid couplings, keyless locking devices and bearings for the industrial markets.
For the first six months, sales were $204.6 million, an increase of 0.4 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 13.1 percent to $29.2 million.
