Reliance Steel & Aluminum to Buy Crest Steel Corp.

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., Los Angeles, CA, has agreed to acquire Crest Steel Corporation, a metals service center in Carson, CA, with facilities in Riverside, CA, and Phoenix, AZ.


Crest was founded in 1963 and specializes in the processing and distribution of carbon steel products including flat-rolled, plate, bars and structurals. Crest’s net sales for the 2005 fiscal year were about $129 million.


Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. is a metals service center with a network of more than 160 locations in 37 states and Belgium, Canada, China and South Korea. The company provides value-added metals processing services and distributes a full line of over 90,000 metal products. These products include galvanized, hot-rolled and cold-finished steel; stainless steel; aluminum; brass; copper; titanium and alloy steel sold to more than 95,000 customers in various industries. Sales in 2005 were $3.37 billion.
