At the IDEA e-Biz Forum in Tuscon last week, I listened to green strategy expert Bill Bean. He spoke about steps you should take to successfully implement a new sales strategy focused on green products and services. As an addendum to his presentation, he provided a few Web sites that may be of interest to any distributor looking to take advantage of recent government incentives that are pushing new energy sources or energy efficiency initiatives. (Read MDM's recent article on how government initiatives are driving growth in alternative energy markets.)

A couple to help you follow the money trail:
  • DSIRE: This site provides information on state, local, utility and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
  • Energy Tax Incentives: energytaxincentives.org, according to the site, is provided by a coalition of public interest nonprofits, government agencies and other organization and is designed to give consumers and businesses information they need to make use of federal tax incentives for energy efficient products and technologies.
  • And of course, you can always check out the economic stimulus-focused Web site, recovery.gov, which provides information on green and alternative energy opportunities available because of stimulus spending, including contracts, grants and loans.
