HVAC maintenance supplies distributor Blackhawk Supply received a majority investment from private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2015, Illinois-based Blackhawk Supply provides HVAC parts with a focus on maintenance, repair and operations. Operating under the Blackhawk Supply and Midwest Supply brands, the company serves contractors, facility managers and end users nationwide. In addition to HVAC products, Blackhawk offers building automation, electrical and plumbing parts through its eCommerce platforms.

Trinity Hunt appointed Troy Vellinga as CEO and Jason Lewis as Chief Development Officer to lead the platform and notes that both bring significant experience in growth through acquisitions. Vellinga previously served as CEO of American Equipment Supply, overseeing 19 add-on deals in 3 years. Lewis was VP of Corporate Development at TurnPoint Services, where he helped lead over 50 acquisitions.
Trinity Hunt said the investment lays the groundwork for the firm’s HVAC distribution platform, leveraging the firm’s industry experience and buy-and-build approach to build a national leader in the HVAC distribution market.
