WD-40 Co. (Nasdaq: WDFC), San Diego, CA, reported sales for the fiscal first quarter ended Nov. 30 of $89.2 million, a decrease of 3.5 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 2.5 percent to $11.8 million.
First-quarter maintenance products sales, which include the WD-40 and 3-IN-ONE brands, were $79.2 million, down 4 percent from the prior year.
Homecare and cleaning products sales, which include all other brands, were $10.1 million for the first quarter, down 2 percent compared to a year ago.
Americas segment sales in the first quarter were $42.8 million, down 4 percent compared to the first quarter of the prior fiscal year. The Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEA) segment sales were $30.3 million, down 6 percent year-over-year. Asia-Pacific segment sales were $16.2 million for the quarter, up 1 percent.
