Deal will expand PrimeSource’s portfolio of specialty residential building products.
Emerson’s underlying sales were up 2%, while acquired assets and currency translation had 1% and 3% of positive impacts on sales.
Year to date, Hillenbrand has seen sales grow 16.4% to $1.4 billion.
In the period, the company also reported a profit of $69.6 billion, up from a loss of $11.3 million in the year-ago quarter.
Veritiv’s sales for the first quarter were down 8.7% from the same quarter a year ago.
Landscape supply distributor SiteOne Landscape Supply Inc. also posted a profit of $7.4 million, up from a loss last year.
NOW Inc., which reported a loss of $10 million for the quarter, saw sales sink 40.2% in 1Q.
BlueLinx also reported a gross profit of $180 million compared to $93 million in the prior year period.
Systemax, the parent of Global Industrial, also reported first-quarter profit fell 33.7% to $5.5 million.
