Knoxville, Tennessee-based Holston Gases announced Aug. 24 that it has acquired fellow gases and welding supplies distributor Alpine Gas, based in Carrolton, Georgia.

Alpine’s single location will be consolidated into Holston’s facility in Carrolton.

“We are very pleased to add the 3,100 propane customers of Alpine gas to those of Holston Gases,” said Robert Anders, Holston president. “Alpine Gas Inc. has been servicing the North Georgia area for over 58 years and has a great reputation and loyal customers that we are excited to bring into the Holston family.”

In a news release, Holston noted that the owner of Alpine agreed that the consolidation of the two companies’ resources in northwest Georgia and eastern Alabama bring added value to the current Alpine customers.

Holston has been a distributor of industrial, medical and propane gases, as well as welding, safety and industrial supplies in the U.S. southeast for over 60 years. It now has 42 locations across Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina.
