Sandvik Coromant Veteran Promoted to Americas President

25-year company veteran Veronica Messersmith will spearhead the company's strategic growth initiatives across North and South America.

Tooling manufacturer Sandvik Coromant has a new leader for the western hemisphere, with veteran sales executive Veronica Messersmith appointed as the company’s President of the Americas, effective March 11.

Messersmith has been with Sandvik Coromant for more than 25 years, having served in various production operations and sales leadership positions since joining the company in 1998.

Those roles included tenure as regional sales manager, director of sales and operations, and sales clusters manager for the U.S. west region.

“Veronica’s extensive background driving sales excellence and operational efficiency and delivering valued customer solutions makes her an exceptional choice to lead our Americas business,” said Michael Eneberg, Sandvik Coromant Global VP of Sales and Marketing at Sandvik Coromant. “Her passionate, customer-centric approach, combined with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams, will be a tremendous asset as we accelerate our growth momentum in this critical region.”

Most recently, Messersmith served as Acting President for the Americas while active in her full-time role as VP of Strategic Relations for the Americas, where she oversaw global account management, machine tool solutions and national channel strategy. Previously, she held leadership roles spanning regional and cluster sales management. The company notes that a highlight was her successful tenure as Acting Cluster Manager for Mexico from 2022-2023, during which she drove collaborative initiatives to deliver strong business results.

In her new role, Messersmith will spearhead the company’s strategic growth initiatives across North and South America.

“I’m honored to lead our talented Americas team in further strengthening Sandvik Coromant’s competitive edge through industry-leading metal cutting solutions and world-class customer support,” she said. “North and South America present immense growth opportunities, and I look forward to working closely with our customers, partners and employees to capture this potential.”

Messersmith holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University and is an active member of various organizations, such as Women in Manufacturing, Women of Industrial Supply Executives and the Industrial Supply Association.
