BlackHawk Industrial Taps Former MSC, Sowa Exec as Commercial Leader

As Chief Commercial Officer Ryan Esposito will oversee commercial strategy across Global Sales and Category Management.

Metalworking and MRO supplies distributor BlackHawk Industrial announced the appointment of Ryan Esposito to the newly created position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

In a March 3 news release, the Tulsa, OK-based company said the role underscores BlackHawk’s commitment to delivering a more consistent, customer-focused commercial experience and accelerating value creation across all regions and customer segments.

Esposito has more than 30 years of experience in industrial distribution and global sourcing. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at cutting tool, machining and metrology solutions manufacturer Sowa Tool & Machine. Prior to Sowa, Esposito spent more than 20 years at MSC Industrial Supply, where he developed extensive expertise in metalworking strategy and category management.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Esposito will oversee commercial strategy across Global Sales and Category Management. BlackHawk said his focus will be on revenue growth, strengthening account management discipline, expanding portfolio strategy and ensuring consistent go-to-market execution across regions and national accounts.

Esposito is the second longtime former MSC executive BlackHawk has added in recent months alongside new category management leader Steve Gettleman.
