Alfa Laval, Lund, Sweden, reported sales for the second quarter were SEK 7 billion (US$1.1 billion), an increase of 23 percent excluding the impact of exchange rates. Profit declined 3 percent to SEK 811 million (US$124.7 million).

For the first six months, sales increased 21 percent to SEK 12.9 billion (US$2 billion). Profit increased 6 percent to SEK 1.5 billion (US$230.7 million).
All businesses segments and geographic regions, except Latin America, reported sales growth in the second quarter.
“High energy prices and investments in renewable energy resulted in a high activity level in Energy & Environment. At the same time strong growth was noted for Food Technology from breweries as well as vegetable oil plants in the fast growing regions of the world," says Lars Renström, president and CEO. "In Process Industry the growth was strong, amongst others within refinery and petrochemicals."
