Brady Corp. (NYSE: BRC), Milwaukee, WI, reported sales for the first quarter ended Oct. 31, 2011, were $349.5 million, up 6 percent over the same period a year ago. Organic sales grew 3.5 percent. Profit was up 24.5 percent to $32.7 million.

By segment, organic sales increased 5.7 percent in the Americas, 3.7 percent in Europe, and organic sales declined 0.2 percent in the Asia-Pacific region.
