Chicago-based Grainger (NYSE: GWW), No. 2 on MDM's list of the top 40 industrial distributors, reported daily sales for July 2012 were up 11 percent from July 2011.

Results for the month included a 5 percentage point contribution from acquisitions and a 2 percentage point decline from foreign exchange.
Organic sales on a daily basis increased 8 percent, including 4 percentage points from volume and 4 percentage points from price.
Daily sales for the U.S. were up 6 percent. Canada sales were up 10 percent (+16 percent in local currency). And Other Businesses were up 71 percent (+17 percent excluding acquisitions in Europe and Brazil).
