For the first six months, sales were $254.1 million, up 10.4 percent over the same period a year ago. The distributor of millwork, building materials and wood products recorded a net loss for the period of $1.3 million, compared to a loss of $8.4 million last year.
In its filing with the SEC, the company stated: "While we expect the severe downturn in new residential construction to continue to adversely affect our operating results throughout 2012, and while housing starts remain well below long-term historical levels, the decline in annualized housing starts appears to have leveled off since 2008 with modest levels of improvement recognized in 2011 and into 2012."
