Swedish manufacturer Alfa Laval sales in the third quarter 2017 were SEK 8.16 billion (US$991 million), down 5 percent the previous period.
Profit was SEK 672 million (US$81 million), compared with a loss in the third quarter 2016.
Year-to-date, sales were SEK $25.2 billion (US$3 billion), down 2 percent from the prior-year period.
Profit was SEK 1.9 billion (US$230 million) in the first nine months, up 14 percent.
“The order intake in the third quarter increased by 15 percent compared to the same quarter last year,” said Tom Erixon, president and CEO. “The development was particularly strong in the Marine Division.” The most positive results for the company were in Asia and North America.
