Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), Melville, NY, reported sales for the second quarter were $4.61 billion, an increase of 36 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit was $116.2 million, compared to profit on $21.1 million in second quarter 2009.

Global components sales of $3.26 billion increased 44 percent year over year. Global enterprise computing solutions sales increased 21 percent to $1.35 billion.
For the first six months, profit was $203.2 million on sales of $8.85 billion, compared with profit of $47.8 million on sales of $6.81 billion in the first six months of 2009.
