U.S. Foodservice, Rosemont, IL, foodservice distributor, has acquired Cerniglia Products, a distributor of Italian specialty foods to the southern Wisconsin market. The company, located in Middleton, Wis., will become part of the U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee division.

"Vito Cerniglia and his team joining U.S. Foodservice will dramatically enhance our ability to serve the growing Italian and Mediterranean restaurant markets," said Tim Hart, division president, U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee. "This acquisition gives U.S. Foodservice-Milwaukee customers access to Cerniglia's broad selection of Italian specialty foods, and Cerniglia customers now have access to more than 9,000 U.S. Foodservice national brand and private label products."
U.S. Foodservice employs approximately 25,000 associates in more than 60 locations nationwide. With approximately $19 billion in annualized revenue, the company is jointly owned by funds managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice Inc. and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
