Houston-based FloWorks International, a specialty distributor of critical flow control products and a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital, L.P., has acquired West Texas-based Slater Controls. FloWorks also provides tailored technical solutions for MRO-focused applications.

This transaction marks the sixth acquisition completed by Houston-based FloWorks under Wynnchurch’s ownership, which invested in the company at the start of 2023.

Slater Controls is a distributor of valve automation, instrumentation and relief valves with four locations in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. The company serves a diverse customer base across various process industries.

Scott Jackson, CEO of FloWorks, commented on the transaction, saying, “Slater Controls enhances FloWorks’ product portfolio, expands our geographic reach and creates meaningful cross-selling opportunities,” FloWorks CEO Scott Jackson said in an Oct. 20 news release. Kevin, Brian and the entire team have built an outstanding business, and we are excited to support the company through its next stage of growth.”

Slater Controls CEO Kevin Slater and President Brian Carter added: “We are thrilled to join the FloWorks team. FloWorks is an outstanding cultural fit, and we look forward to realizing the full benefits of the platform.”

FloWorks operates more than 50 locations across the U.S., Canada and Asia, catering to markets of chemical, power, marine, agriculture, semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, food and beverage, renewables, and other general industrial segments.
