Bluon has introduced PartsConnect, a new feature within its mobile app and field service management (FSM) integrations that enables HVAC technicians to quickly identify and purchase compatible replacement parts from local distributors.
The tool leverages Bluon’s equipment intelligence platform — which includes a database of more than 30 million model numbers across 240-plus OEMs — to match specific HVAC units with compatible replacement components and show which nearby suppliers stock them.
PartsConnect is designed to address long-standing friction in HVAC service workflows, where technicians often rely on manual research, distributor counter support or trial-and-error to find suitable replacement parts. The process can be particularly challenging when original components are discontinued or when verifying compatibility of substitute parts.
With the new feature, technicians can scan a unit’s model number and immediately view compatible parts along with availability through preferred local distributors. The company says this reduces time spent on phone calls, parts lookups and in-person counter visits, while helping minimize incorrect installs and repeat service calls.
“Our customers have been asking for this feature for years,” Bluon CEO Peter Capuciati said in an April 13 news release. “Identifying compatible replacement part options is hard enough, but trying to determine if a local distributor carries any of those compatible options has historically been a massive friction point for HVAC shops. We believe we have finally cracked the code to this enormous challenge.”
For distributors, the feature shifts how inventory is surfaced to contractors by embedding product availability directly into technicians’ workflows at the point of need. This dynamic could increase visibility for participating distributors while reducing reliance on traditional counter interactions.
Bluon positions PartsConnect as part of its broader AI-driven platform aimed at improving technician productivity, reducing errors and helping contractors complete jobs more efficiently across the $150 billion HVAC market.
