Advantage Distribution Holdings (ADH) has completed its acquisition of cfm Distributors — a Kansas City, MO-based HVACR distributor with six locations and a distribution center across Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1969, cfm distributes HVACR equipment, parts and supplies to residential and commercial end markets. The company is a longtime York distributor partner and a member of BLUE HAWK, a member-owned cooperative of independent distributors. cfm President and CEO Lauren Roberts, who currently serves as Chairwoman of HARDI, will continue to lead the business.
The acquisition expands ADH to 13 locations across six states in the Southeast and Midwest. ADH said all cfm employees will receive equity participation in the platform as part of the transaction.
“cfm has always been about people – our employees, our customers and the relationships we’ve built over decades,” Roberts said. “That started nearly 60 years ago with my grandfather, Amos Roberts and co-founder Bruce Huffman, was carried forward under the leadership of my father, Tom Roberts, and continues today through our employee-owned culture. ADH felt like a natural extension of that legacy. They share our belief that independents are the backbone of this industry and that the people who build the business should share in its success. This partnership allows us to preserve that legacy while continuing to invest in our team and the customers we serve.”
ADH CEO Clay Holder said the partnership aligns with the platform’s focus on supporting independent HVAC distributors.
“Having known Lauren since 2020, I am deeply honored to partner with a leader of her caliber,” added Clay Holder, CEO of ADH. “Her dedication to advancing the industry and supporting independent distributors aligns directly with ADH’s mission and founding principles. I look forward to working alongside Lauren and the entire cfm team as we continue delivering the high level of service their customers and partners have come to expect.”
The deal marks ADH’s second acquisition since the platform was formed in 2024 by Miami-based Tigertail Capital Partners. Tigertail launched ADH as a tech-enabled distribution platform focused on HVAC equipment and parts, with an investment strategy centered on founder-owned businesses in fragmented industries.
ADH completed its first acquisition in March 2025 with the purchase of CTC Supply, an HVAC distributor headquartered in Fayetteville, NC, with four locations throughout coastal North Carolina.
“cfm reflects everything we look for in a partner, and together we firmly believe we can build ADH into a Top 10 HVAC distributor in the United States while having a lasting, positive impact on the industry,” ADH Co-Founders Zach Katz, Alex Gatof, and Andrew Och added.
