Louisville, KY-based industrial distributor Air Hydro Power (AHP) announced Sept. 10 that Jason McGuire will become CEO effective Oct. 1, succeeding Tom McGuire, who will retire from day-to-day leadership after 34 years with the company.

Tom McGuire will begin a consulting role with AHP parent company Houchens Industries, assisting AHP and its incoming CEO with acquisitions and special projects while also supporting other Houchens businesses.

Jason McGuire — who is not related to Tom McGuire — joined AHP as Executive Vice President in January. He previously served as Executive Director of Market Strategy & Business Development at ITT and spent 20 years at Parker Hannifin, where his leadership roles included Director of Business Development for Global Energy Markets.

Since joining AHP, Jason McGuire has worked with its leadership team on safety, operational efficiency, technology adoption and growth initiatives.

Tom McGuire joined AHP in 1992, when the company had six salespeople and approximately $10 million in annual sales. He acquired the business with Matt Ott and Dick Beaven in 1998. AHP reached $100 million in sales 21 years later and $200 million six years after that.

“Our growth has never been about one person,” Tom McGuire said. “It has been the result of talented people across sales, customer service, operations, engineering, finance, and every other part of the company working together to take care of customers.”

Houchens Industries acquired AHP in 2023, making it a 100% employee stock ownership plan company. Today, AHP operates 27 locations in five states and employs nearly 400 people.

Jason McGuire said the company will continue investing in its employees and customer service under his leadership.

AHP serves more than 7,000 customers with products and solutions spanning fluid power, automation, hose and connectors, motors and pumps, material handling and industrial supplies.
