EMCO Chemical Distributors announced Sept. 23 that it has agreed to acquire the assets and operations of Pride Chemical Solutions, expanding EMCO’s distribution footprint into the Northeast.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

Pleasant Prairie, WI-based EMCO is a distributor, custom blender and packager of chemicals that distributes and packages more than 300 million pounds of chemicals annually for over 4,000 customers. It operates eight distribution and packaging facilities, an application lab and an environmental services facility.

Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Holtsville, NY, Pride is a family-owned distributor of industrial chemicals primarily serving the Northeast. The company has more than 80 employees and distributes, blends and packages more than 3,000 SKUs for over 1,500 active customers. It operates distribution and packaging facilities in Holtsville and Avenel, NJ, along with a dedicated delivery fleet.

Pride serves markets including food, flavor and fragrance, pharmaceuticals, personal care, inks and coatings and household, industrial and institutional products. Its services include chemical blending and packaging, laboratory testing and NF/USP and kosher product packaging.

“Our acquisition of Pride is the result of our strategy to expand EMCO’s geographic footprint not just organically, but also through M&A, targeted at highly complementary businesses,” EMCO Executive Chairman Frank Bergonzi said.

Pride CEO Art Dhom Jr. said selecting a buyer that respected the company’s name, reputation and employees was important as the family considered Pride’s next chapter. Dhom’s father, Arthur Dhom Sr., founded the business more than 50 years ago.

The deal follows EMCO’s own ownership change in late 2025. New York-based private equity firm Lindsay Goldberg announced its acquisition of EMCO in November and completed the transaction Dec. 9. Bergonzi, a Lindsay Goldberg Affiliate Partner and chemicals industry executive, was appointed EMCO’s executive chairman following the deal.

At the time, Lindsay Goldberg said it planned to work with EMCO management to support the distributor’s future growth. EMCO founder Edward Polen retired in connection with the transaction.

PKF Investment Banking served as Pride’s exclusive financial advisor for the EMCO transaction.
