On July 5, Meritus Gas Partners announced it has entered into a partnership with Applied Gas, Inc., an independent manufacturer and distributor of specialty gases headquartered in Danbury, Texas.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. The agreement represents Meritus Gas’ sixth transaction in 2023.

Applied Gas specializes in multi-component hydrocarbon gas mixtures used to calibrate analytical instrumentation at petrochemical plants producing olefins – ethylene, propylene and their derivatives. The company is is led by Founders and Co-Presidents Burke Pleason and David Redick, who will continue to lead the business following the transaction and “maintain significant equity ownership” in Meritus.

Applied Gas has longstanding, stable relationships with its customers because of their expertise and exceptional service levels.”

On June 15, Meritus announced it had acquired specialty gas distributor and manufacturer Global Calibration Gases, based in Sarasota, Florida. In May, OzArc Gas Equipment & Supply, Inc. —  a portfolio operating company of Meritus announced that it acquired Eagle Safety Products, LLC, headquartered in Union, Missouri. In April Meritus acquired Kansas City-based Hohenschild Welders Supply Company. That same month, Meritus acquired OXARC, a distributor of industrial and specialty gases, welding and safety supplies based in Spokane, Washington. Meritus also announced Feb. 10 that it had closed its acquisition of “substantially all assets” of MagneGas Welding Supply – South, LLC.
