On Sept. 29, Dallas-based Singer Industrial, formerly SBP Holdings, announced it has “joined forces” with two distributors — one in Minnesota and another in California.

Dundas, Minnesota-based TS Products, Inc. will operate within the Dakota Fluid Power Division of Singer Industrial. Capital Rubber & Gasket Co. — headquartered in Sacramento, California — will operate within the Industrial Rubber Division of Singer Industrial.

The additions will increase Singer’s North America footprint to approximately 90-plus locations and over 1,300 employees, the company said in a news release.

TS Products is owned and operated by Steve and Tammy Schultz. The business specializes in the manufacturing of hydraulic power units with submersible hydraulic pump/motor combinations. Steve Schultz will continue to work in the business as a Sales Engineer, Singer said.

“Steve, Tammy and the entire TS Products, Inc. team have built a very unique and profitable business with a culture of providing exceptional service to their customer base,” said Singer Fluid Power Division President Scott Wojciak. “We are very excited to have them join our team and look forward to expanding the sales of their custom engineered hydraulic power units and specialized components integrating into the Singer Industrial footprint.”

Capital Rubber & Gasket Co. serves customers within the aggregate, agriculture, construction and general MRO end markets with conveyor belt & installation, industrial & hydraulic hoses and gaskets. Former owners Bob Breese, Les Shively, Cheryl Tabor and Daniel Breese will continue to manage the Capital Rubber & Gasket business, Singer said.

“The addition of Capital Rubber’s exceptional product and service expertise strengthens Singer’s presence on the West Coast. This partnership will provide new growth opportunities for the 60 employees at Capital Rubber,” said Industrial Rubber Division President Sam Petillo.

The mergers mark the fourth and fifth deals for Singer this year. In August, the company also announced it had “joined forces” with American Hose & Hardware Inc., which will operate within the Industrial Rubber Division of Singer Industrial. In April, Singer acquired Arizona-based Hotsy Industrial Systems, a provider off hot & cold pressure washers, air compressors, waste water treatment systems and detergents.

In March — the same month the company announced its rebrand from SBP Holdings — Singer announced its acquisition of Uni-Draulik Inc., a Canadian distributor of hydraulic equipment.

On MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists, Singer ranks No. 40 among industrial distributors, No. 4 for hose & accessories, and No. 15 for fluid power.
