Custom corrugated and value-added packaging products distributor SupplyOne has acquired the business of Wertheimer Box — a Chicago-based corrugated packaging distributor known for custom shipping boxes, branded packaging, eCommerce mailers and specialty retail displays.
This acquisition represents the 46th addition to SupplyOne’s portfolio since its 1998 founding.
Founded in 1939 by Ernest Wertheimer and based in McCook, IL, Wertheimer is led by Ernest’s son Doug Wertheim, who became president in 2004 and has expanded the company’s offerings into dedicated eCommerce packaging solutions, on-demand products and digital printing.
In a Jan. 6 news release, SupplyOne said the addition expands SupplyOne’s footprint in the important Chicago market and strengthens its ability to deliver high-quality, custom corrugate packaging to customers across North America. By combining Wertheimer Box’s expertise in custom corrugated production with SupplyOne’s national scale and diverse packaging portfolio, the company expects to offer clients a broader range of packaging options (including supplies and digital corrugated), faster lead times and enhanced services.
“By acquiring Wertheimer Box, we are integrating a highly respected and innovative Chicagoland packaging organization whose reputation speaks for itself,” said Todd Renehan, President and CEO of SupplyOne. “Their dedication to superior quality, exceptional customer service and custom corrugated expertise directly supports our vision of being the preferred packaging partner for small and medium-sized businesses across the country.”
“Joining SupplyOne enables us to tap into national resources and logistics, while preserving the close-knit culture and dedicated customer service that our clients know,” Doug Wertheimer added. “We’re excited for what this partnership means for our customers and to build on an 85+ year legacy our employees have built in the market.”
SupplyOne’s previously most recent acquisition was of Arkansas-based packaging manufacturer Lamb & Associates Packaging in November.
