Chicago-based industrial distributor Grainger (NYSE: GWW) has been named one of the 100 best companies to work for, according to Fortune.

“We’re proud to be recognized for fostering a welcoming workplace that is inclusive and committed to fulfilling our purpose, We Keep the World Working,” said DG Macpherson, Grainger chairman and CEO. “To innovate and best serve our customers, we’ve built a culture based on curiosity, development, collaboration and teamwork where people are valued for who they are and recognized for the work they do. I want to thank the entire Grainger team for making Grainger one of the Best Companies to Work For.”

Employee experience platform Great Place to Work selects companies named to the “highly competitive” Fortune’s Best Companies to Work For list, Grainger said.

The selection methodology includes rigorous analytics and feedback from over 4.5 million confidential employee survey responses. The platform picks winners based on a wide variety of factors, including “how fairly employees are treated.”
