AlarMax Distributors opened two facilities in the Pittsburgh area designed to expand its customer training, inventory and nationwide fulfillment capabilities.
The security and low-voltage products distributor announced Aug. 3 that it opened the AlarMax Product Experience (APEX) Innovation Lab at its Pittsburgh headquarters and a new National Fulfillment Center in nearby Cranberry Township, PA.
The APEX Innovation Lab is an interactive technology center where customers, supplier partners and AlarMax employees can explore integrated security systems from 15 vendors. The facility will host product demonstrations, technical education, certification programs, product launches and collaborative solution development.
The lab also includes a dedicated classroom for customer training and ongoing professional development.
“Today’s customers expect more than product availability — they expect expertise, education and trusted partners,” AlarMax President and CEO Scott Shelander said in the company’s announcement.
AlarMax’s new 40,000-square-foot fulfillment center expands its inventory capacity and logistics network. The distributor said the facility will support faster order fulfillment, deeper inventory in key product categories and improved supply chain efficiency for customers nationwide.
Together, the facilities are intended to expand AlarMax’s customer education and certification programs, strengthen supplier collaboration, support product launches and help the company scale its operations.
AlarMax has invested in its technology, leadership, marketing, operations and infrastructure in recent years as part of a broader growth strategy. The company appointed a new president in February 2025 and added several senior executives during 2025 and 2026, including leaders overseeing technology, finance, sales, operations and supply chain.
AlarMax distributes fire alarm, intrusion, access control, surveillance, audiovisual, networking and other low-voltage products through 27 U.S. branches and relationships with more than 400 manufacturers. It serves professional security integrators and contractors.
The company will hold a grand opening and open house at the fulfillment center on Aug. 25, featuring facility tours and demonstrations from more than 20 vendors.
