On Oct. 9, electrical distributor Sonepar announced the company is celebrating its 25th anniversary of operating in the U.S.
The company recently celebrated the milestone at their four U.S. Sonepar corporate offices by participating in local philanthropic activities and enjoying a luncheon that featured French-inspired cuisine, according to a company news release.
“Sonepar’s founder, Henri Coisne, had the goal of moving the growing family business beyond Europe and across the Atlantic to the world’s largest economy,” Sonepar said in a statement. “In 1998, Sonepar made its move to the United States, led by Henri’s daughter, Marie-Christine Coisne-Roquette, who now presides as Chairman of the Group’s Supervisory Board.”
Since the company first entered the U.S. after acquiring Eagle Electric — which later become part of NorthEast Electrical — the U.S. business has grown to $12 billion in revenue, more than 450 branches and roughly 10,000 associates, according to Sonepar North America President Rob Taylor.
“I am very proud of the road travelled and excited about the opportunities to come,” said Taylor. “Our prior success is an indication of the continued growth we will achieve with the support of Sonepar Group, our talented associates, collaborative partners, and dedicated customers.”
Sonepar ranks No. 2 among electrical distributors on MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists.
Sonepar’s Codale Opens New Idaho Branch
Also on Oct. 9, Codale Electric — a Sonepar Company — announced the opening of its new Meridian, Idaho, branch location.
Salt Lake City-based Codale serves residential and commercial contractors, industrial facilities and OEM businesses through 17 locations across Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Idaho since their Nampa, Idaho, store opening in April of this year.
“Greater Boise is one of the fastest growing markets in the United States,” said Todd Saunders, President of Codale. “We see a lot of commercial industry coming into the Boise area which gives Codale a solid platform for growth.”
The new branch is located at 71 NW 13 Place Meridian, Idaho 83642.
“Codale is going through a digital transformation,” said John Bennett, Branch Manager of new Meridian store. “Along with the products and solutions our new physical branch brings in service to customers, we also aim to provide an omnichannel experience creating a seamless interaction with Codale,” he added. “We can do business with them how, when and where they want – physical or digital.”
