Hexcel Corp. (NYSE: HXL), Stamford, CT, reported fourth-quarter sales of $311 million, 16.7 percent higher than sales in fourth quarter 2009. Profit was $22.9 million, compared to $5.7 million for the same period a year ago.

For the full year of 2010, sales were $1.17 billion, up 5.4 percent over sales for 2009. Profit increased 37.5 percent to $77.4 million.
Commercial Aerospace sales of $174.1 million increased 27 percent (28.6 percent in constant currency) for the quarter. Full-year sales were $644.7 million, up 15.9 percent (16.5 percent in constant currency).
Space & Defense sales of $84.2 million were 15.3 percent higher (17.3 percent in constant currency) than the fourth quarter of 2009. Full year 2010 sales of $310.5 million were 3.7 percent higher (4.5 percent in constant currency).
Industrial sales of $52.7 million for the fourth quarter of 2010 were 6.7 percent lower (1.5 percent in constant currency) than the fourth quarter of 2009. Sales for the full year 2010 were $218.4 million, down 13.6 percent (11.4 percent in constant currency).
