Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), Phoenix, AZ, ranked No. 1 on MDM's 2013 list of top electronics distributors, has named Michael Buseman as chief global logistics and operations officer effective November 1. As announced in July, Avnet’s current global logistics and operations officer, Gerry Fay, was promoted to global president for Avnet electronics marketing.

Buseman was selected to succeed Fay based on a background of more than 25 years of experience in the electronics industry. “With his experience in the fast-paced and highly competitive EMS industry that our Avnet electronics marketing operating group serves, Mike brings a very relevant and valuable perspective into our business,” said Avnet CEO Rick Hamada.

Buseman joins Avnet from Plexus Corp., where he was executive vice president of global manufacturing operations.
