Interline Brands, Inc. (NYSE: IBI), Jacksonville, FL, a distributor and direct marketer of maintenance, repair and operations products, reported sales for the third quarter ended Sept. 24, 2010, were $276.8 million, down 0.4 percent from the comparable 2009 period. Profit increased 10.4 percent to $11.5 million.

For the first nine months, sales were $792.2 million, a decrease of 1.5 percent from a year ago. Profit increased 32.4 percent to $26.2 million.
Interline’s facilities maintenance end-market, which comprised 74 percent of sales, declined 1.5 percent during the third quarter. The professional contractor end-market, which comprised 15 percent of sales, increased 0.1 percent for the quarter. The specialty distributor end-market, which comprised 11 percent of sales, increased 4.1 percent for the quarter.
