Animal Health International, a Colorado-based distributor of animal health products with 125 locations and 1,500 employees, has grown through acquisition. As a result, it ended up with three separate business management systems.
A few years ago, the distributor set a goal to reach $1 billion in revenue. That was not going to be easy without a common technology platform however.

The distributor set out to find a common IT platform to standardize best practices and processes throughout the existing organization and to allow it to do so quickly with new acquisitions.
Under the “be careful what you wish for” heading, the company this year more than surpassed its growth goals. It has also reduced inventory by 15 percent after implementing its new ERP system and has gained visibility and analytic capabilities into its diverse business segments.
