Spokane Valley, WA-based food and beverage distributor Williams Distributor was acquired by private investment firm KDSA Investment Partners.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 1992 by Roger Williams and led for the past six years by his son, Tony Williams, the company operates a full-service direct-store-delivery  distribution network across Eastern Washington, Montana, Idaho, Northeast Oregon and Northern Wyoming. Williams supplies a variety of products, including ice cream, frozen pizza and other frozen foods, to more than 2,000 customer locations such as regional grocers, convenience stores and independent retailers.

As part of the transition, Operating Partner at KDSA and former President of Cold Front Distribution Tim Valdez has been appointed CEO of Williams. Tony Williams will remain President through the end of the year and continue as a strategic advisor and brand ambassador.

“We’ve spent decades earning trust in our markets by focusing on best-in-class, flawless customer service. KDSA shares that same mindset,” Tony Williams said in a June 18 news release. “With their support and under Tim’s leadership, I’m confident the business will continue to thrive for years to come.”

KDSA Co-Managing Partner and new Chairman of Williams Distributors David Knopf added: “Williams has built a terrific business grounded in customer service and trust, reliability and strong supplier partnerships. It’s a great fit with our long-term vision, and we’re excited to support the team in this next phase of growth.”

KDSA said the acquisition aligns with its focus on investing in founder-led and family-owned businesses with regional presence and growth potential. The firm plans to support Williams through infrastructure investments, talent development and both organic and inorganic growth in the Northwest and Mountain West.
